Introduction:

In this article i will explain what is Drop Command and how to use Drop Command in SQL Server.

Description:

 In previous articles i explained How to create a table in SQL ServerHow to alter table column in SQL ServerHow to add a column to table and How to delete a column from table in SQL ServerHow to rename a column and How to rename a table in SQL ServerUpdate Command, Delete Command, and Truncate Command. Now i will explain what is Drop Command and how to use Drop Command in SQL Server.

Drop command comes under DDL (Data definitionLanguage) command. By using Drop command we can drop a table from database.

Syntax:

Drop table <table-name>

Example:

Drop table Employee

Execute the above statement. Employee table will be dropped from database.

Note: Data along with table structure is also deleted.
